I would appreciate it very much if SH members, who already purchased this torque driver, share their opinions and desirably, suggestions. It is important to have your feedback in order to improve performance of this tool.

I bought a MG version, I did a little review, but basically this little tool kicks ass, I fix 737s for a living, I have access to all kinds of cool tools, I checked the values on a torque wrench calibrating fixture and they were spot on, at first I disliked the value of the torque face down while using the tool, but have recanted my opinion on that, it makes perfect sense to see the torque being applied from the insertion side of the bits, I highly recommend the MG version, the tool is KISS, and priced at a number everyone can afford, it's silly not to own at least one.

I bought this and have given it out to our local LE Armourers for evaluation.

My only problem is they like them so much I am having a problem getting them back to use on my own stuff.

As I've stated in other threads, I think this tool is excellent. And also, well worth the cost. We're looking forward to our TAB pouch's to arrive, but the FrogTogg's one isn't too bad.

The only improvement I could come up with, is inside the hex holders. To have the "C" clip inside as well, so that the bits "click-in" more steadily. That way it's not just the magnet holding it all together.

This is only because I have a thing against magnetic tools, and whatnot. Things always fall off, for me.

Yes Boris, ya done good work. Definitely rate this one a "V-Bull".

Oh no, I was only curious.
After perusing the contents of the kit, and looking hard at the kit that comes with the TAB case I find it to be the one I shall buy in the future.
I cannot see paying $65+Shipping for only an inch pound torque wrench(Sekonk et al) when a little more will get a nice kit in a solid case.
When do you see all the wrench having it's complete improvements finished? Just from this I am assuming you are considering making a few so we can call the current piece a 'beta' market model if that works.

You should be getting pouches early next week, I figure.. To my sincere surprise, delivery to Canada takes longer then to Europe. Who is doing what to make is relatively slow may be an interesting subject to discuss, but it's not me...

If you prefer C-ring, you can actually just use any suitable hex bit holder with C-ring or chuck, it will fit just fine, assuming that the length of the hex shank is 0.75"-1" to fit the holder knob. I personally prefer magnetic hex bit holders, but if necessary, will offer an option for a one with C-ring for good people like you, no big deal, whatever works for the customer.

Let me know when you get TAB GEAR pouches, O.K.?

Switch, please check you PM's box. In general, whatever was sold to SH guys is considered to be production version, good enough for the application, although, I'm a supporter of continuous improvement principle, which is why I need customer feedback.

I am very happy with it... I put it on a torque calibration testing unit and it's accurate. The only issue I had was the first time I used it I but the bit in the wrong side resulting in more torque the desired.

Great product.

I agree with 427:. I would prefer to see the value as I am using the tool. I keep turning it over to make sure I am on the correct value with it being on the bottom, e.g, the incorrect value on top plays with my feeble mind. On top, look at it once and the whole time in use will verify where I want it and "snap" would be best for me. To me, this is #1 improvement.

I agree with Sean: A C clip to hold it together would be better than + - attraction. Not so big deal though.

Outside of these, superb! Still playing with it!

Gentlemen: Did the kit come with all the required attachments needed (for example a torx 15 for scope rings, longer allen wrench attachment for AICS stocks, etc)? If not, where is the best place to buy each individual piece?

For whats its worth I checked mine against a MAC TOOLS brand needle/dial type torque wrench and it was spot on. I really like the compactness and ease of use. I also agree that the torque value in use being on the bottom takes some getting use to, I thought mine was made backwards when it came in untill I got smart and read the instructions. Overall its a great tool and well worth the money.

This type of the driver, which is sometimes called "break-over" wrench, is generally considered to be very accurate, because locking ball (or roller) detent function is not affected by presence of lack of lubrication. The only thing that becomes important in this case is to apply tightening force to specified location on the handle, which is formed by the finger groove.

As long as user applies the force to the spot close to the finger groove, the driver remains consistent and accurate. Initial calibration is done with use of gravitational torque meter (weight+lever type), which is probably the most accurate type of such device in existence, as it relies on use of the force of gravity, which naturally never changes, unless this torque meter is used on top of the very high mountain... Driver is typically calibrated with +/- 2% accuracy, with consideration to additional deviation caused by the user normally applying tightening force not exactly to the center of the finger groove, practical accuracy is typically +/- 4%. As long as the driver is correctly calibrated just for one of the 12 settings, all 12 settings are also calibrated automatically, as these settings are "geometrically" fixed relative to each other and can not change in principle, unless initial setting is altered for any reason, say, by the user tinkering with the internal spring adjustment screw.

Thanks a lot.

When I design things, I kind of think at the same time how to make them, which means design ends up being relatively simple. In this case, my past army experience also told me to keep it as compact and light weight as possible, and again, keep it simple... Knowing a bit of physics and geometry also helped.

Of course we do. Brownells just asked Borka Tools (Borka Enterprises) to make drivers with Brownells logo on the driver arms which was perfectly acceptable, and actually, somewhat of a compliment to Borka products. As to Brownells being a manufacturer - I believe it to be a typo on their product page. Things happen. In the nearest future, you'll see the same tools with "Rifles Only", "Dave Manson Precision Reamers" and other good guys names. I offer co-branding arrangements to selected dealers, and it's typically order quantity related and business associations kind of a deal.
