Is a custom brake going to be more accurate than a off the shelf brake? Custom is made for the barrel and the off the shelf is generic for different barrels. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks ahead of time.

I doubt you will see a difference with any quality brake whether self timing and installed by you or a timed brake installed by a smith. I have both and both are accurate. A lot of people run self timers and they wouldn't if they weren't accurate. Just buy a quality unit.

There’s no difference in accuracy as Far as shooting, but there can be difference in the “accuracy of recoil”.

There is always a possibility for a manufacturing defect like your barrel threads may not gage right. Something To watch my out for is replacing a brake that you had a gunsmith thread your barrel and time... make sure 100% that he is using a gage or thread wires to check your threads. It’s possible they could make it to whatever size fit the brake that he made, but if you bought another brake it might not fit on those threads if they were not ran in tolerance.

Say you had a brake that had back Angled ports at 25 degrees... but it got misloaded when being made and one side came out at 20 degrees and the other 25 degrees. This would cause your gun to Push to the side.
