Brothers

I was able to go visit my family in Oregon this past weekend. As many of you know both of my brothers are fighting cancer. Mike in Oregon and Terry in SoCal. It was a good visit, but very difficult also. Sometimes you see a fighter with all the hope in the world and other times you can see in Mike's eyes that he knows his time is limited and this could be our last visit.

We got to talking about shooting and I told him I was looking to buy a skeet gun. He insisted that I borrow his
Browning. Brand new, only been to the range once. I'll have to get to the range so I can send him some pictures. Its a bittersweet loan. We both know that he'll never shoot again, but we both want to hold on to the hope that someday he will.

All I know on Terry is that he has chemo every week and if the tumors show up again they say he'll have about 6 months. He's a very angry person, so he doesn't talk to the family very often.

Yep, I see him twice a year for cat-scans and ultra sounds. I had kidney cancer 5 1/2 years ago. We caught it very early which was a miracle in itself, so I have 98% of my kidney.

Susan, what can I say, really? That is a heck of a situation, to begin with. Your steadfastness and perseverance has and will be tested, but I've Faith that you'll handle it all.

Added to the list, here.
