I was at Jensen Arms the other day and they had received three of the difficult to find Remington 700's chambered in .338 Lapua and sold two online within 5min of listing them and had the third on their shelf just calling my name. I was planning to build a .338 Lapua off of a Sako but at about 1/3 the price this was a hard one to pass up. Deciding on what to go with as far as stock and optic go but it should end up being a pretty solid performer when it's all done. I'm looking forward to sending some 300 grain lead down range.

(Note: not my pic but it's the same thing)

Drop it in an AICS L/A, add a Badger FTE brake on it and may be a tactical knob for bolt handle and you should be good to go.

Why the AICS over the Manners, Macmillan or B&C? Just curious here since I need some input. My buddy isn't a big fan of the AICS for him personally so I want to see what all my options are and which is the best value.

I've heard these brakes can vary quite a bit in how much recoil they suppress and I've also read that some are not allowed in some competitions and am not sure what is what. I also don't want to spend a ton of money on a stock and a brake if not necessary since the optic and ammo are going to be quite spendy.

I am a bit more bias toward AICS stocks. It also comes with a DBM ready to go. You can choose to bed it or not to bed it. Very sturdy. But you are right it can be dropped in a MacMillan or Manners.
