To improve my check weld I have been searching for some time for a low rise quick detach 34mm scope mount for a Premier Heritage 3 - 15 x 50 Gen II scope I have mounted on a Noveske gun. I am currently using an American Defense Manufacturing AD-Recon Scope Mount that with 34mm rings that has a scope height of a bit more that 1.50 (38.1mm) inches. I would like to lower the scope to between 1.0 and 1.1 inches (25.4 - 28.0mm). I have some hope that a Spuhr mount maybe exactly what I am looking for, but when Spuhr will release them, and if they will meet my needs is uncertain. Until then, as an alternative to lowering the scope, I have been raising the check piece on a Magpul PRS stock I am currently using by about .4 to .5 inches (10 - 13mm). This has improved matters, but I am a nose to charging handle shooter, and I would prefer a check weld that starts at the beginning of the stock. Something with the ergonomics for example of Magpul UBR stock. Recently, I came across a Brugger & Thomet 34mm QD scope mount with a Simrad interface and a scope height of 31.1mm (1.2 inches). http://www.brugger-thomet.ch/en/manufacturing/mountingsystems/opticalrings.php?pid=593. This is a bit higher than what I am looking for but it should work.
My only experience with B&T is with fitting one of their suppressors to a Glock 17. I would appreciate any thoughts, impressions, experiences, etc. of Hide members on this idea.
Thank you in advance for all your assistance.
