Are you sure that's Russia? That looks like my cousin's trailer outside Pascagoula.

That vest does not appear to have a SAPI or ballistic plate equivalent to spread the force of the impact. Presuming the vest did in fact stop the bullet (doubtful), the "shoot-e" just received a force of about 1500 ft-lbs concentrated in an area 0.3" in diameter. Imagine Barry Bonds on 'roids <span style="text-decoration: underline">and</span> PCP just smashed you in the ribs with the round end of a ball peen hammer.
