Rifle Scopes Burris XTR 4-16x50 Illuminated Mil Dot Questions

I was at a pistol match Saturday and won a %60 off coupon for a burris scope. I am looking for a scope for my remington 700. I was looking at the Burris XTR 4-16x50 because it is listed for $1600 and with the coupon I can get it for $600. What are your thoughts? Is the optic worth my $600.00? I am new to the precision rifle game and want a good clear entry level scope. What are your thoughts?

One problem I have with my 3-15x56 XTR is that the crosshairs move when you are trying to change the power setting. You can't see it when holding the scope in your hands, but when you have the rifle on a solid rest you can see the crosshairs move. I sent the scope into Burris with an explanation with what's wrong, they recalibrated the parallax on it and sent it back. The problem of the moving reticle was not corrected. NOT impressed with Burris warranty, scope will be going back.
