Gunsmithing bushings for removable pilot reamers

Re: bushings for removable pilot reamers

How important is it?

The way I would look at it is, a set of bushings I believe is $90 per caliber from PTG. How much is the barrel your cutting on?

Re: bushings for removable pilot reamers

Thanks Chad. I value your opinion. In a month or 2, I hope to send you my Stiller 338 action and a Krieger barrel for chambering. I built one a while back and have never really been satisfied with my groups. Plus my reamer which I loaned out now has a defect in it.

With that said - and I agree with the importance - don't forget that tens of thousands of chambers have been cut over the years with solid pilot reamers - just sayin'............
