I’m looking at these two scopes for a .308 I threw together and wanted to hear from people that have used both. I don’t necessarily have a need for FFP with matching turrets but it would be nice for learning purposes. I do like the 16x high end on the 6500 scope but will probably only be shooting to 500 yards or so on a regular basis. They are also priced about the same from what I can tell. Let me know what you guys think.

no brainer for me the 3-12, it is ffp matching mil/mil and illuminated. what more do you need to know. you will never know the difference in field shooting between 12x and 16x.

Don't both the 4200 and the 6500 have the same glass? I could have swore I read somewhere they did, with the only major differences between the two are the 4200 can be FFP with mil/mil with less mag.

Thats kind of what I was thinking on the magnification. I had an IOR 3-18 a few years ago and loved the magnification range. Does anyone know if they fixed the flashlight like illumination? I have seen pictures where you can see the illumination from the front of the scope.
