Rifle Scopes Bushnell 4200 VS. Nikon Monarch

Re: Bushnell 4200 VS. Nikon Monarch

If you search for "Bushnell 4200" or "6-24x50" you will see lots of good feedback on that scope. The Tactical version of the Elite 4200 is the one most recommended in that model so I assume you are comparing the tactical version of both scopes.

One big difference is that while the Elite does not have a lot of adjustability the Monarch has less (50moa vs 30moa). The Monarch is also a 1/8th moa adjustment versus 1/4th moa. You didn't say what you were planning to do with the scope and "better" is subjective. Those two things, however, would push me towards the Elite for a tactical rifle scope. 1/8moa might work better for a benchrest rifle but 30moa won't get you far.

I picked the bushnell (which i haven't used yet) to top my savage .308.
Reason? Bushnell is the best bang for your buck until the Viper PST becomes readily available. If you're after an entry level tactical/longrange scope then its very hard to beat.

Bushnell 4200 hands down

I always found it strange when looking over retailers used/demo/special sales on optics that everyone seems to have a gluten of Nikon refurbs? They must have some pretty big issues to keep that pipe line full all the time.

Cheers!

I would have to chip in on the 4200. I have one and it is actually on a custom I just have built because my leupold broke. It tracks well and is a good scope. Clear but just not as much as the mark 4. Not as expensive either.
