I just picked up an LTR in .223 and I'm almost completely tapped out for optics. The rifle came with a 2 piece base (not my favorite) and 1" rings that I'd like to utilize until I pull the funds together for a better mount and optics. I've been looking around at $200-$300 scopes. The Bushnell Elite 3200 10X40 looks to be a decent choice for the money.

What say you?...

Re: Bushnell Elite 3200 10x40 for a .223 LTR?

I have three of them. I'm running one on my sps 223 tactical, one on my 25.06 sendero, and one on my dpms lr308 with a 243 upper. I have ran the one on my 223 atop my AR50 for a few rounds also. They all function very well for the price range. I am however, looking to replace two of them with some Falcon Menace. Not because they are inferior but because I like mil/mil, variable power scopes.

Had one on my AR, but prefer scopes with parallax adjustability. Mine tracked well, had great glass, but had some parallax issues out at 200yrds. I replaced it with a 3200 Elite 5-15x40 AO

Well, I went ahead and got one for $181.95 including shipping on Ebay. Best price I could find that included shipping. I'll let everyone know how it works out ASAP. Thanks guys!

Buy it. The 3200 is a great little scope. I have one on at AR. The adjustments are very firm on mine, not mushy at all. There are actually only 82 MOA of adjustment in mine, but that has never been a limiting factor. The reticle is nice and thin, not too thick. I know others state that they would like parallax adjustment on it, which would probably be nice, but again, I haven't found it a limiting factor.

I currently have 9 of these scopes have had them mounted on 17hmr up to my 50 bmg. have had ice froze on them. been in a bunch of different different weather conditions.good tough scopes ,you dont have to change the power to mill no paralyx to worry with just a good no nonsense scope.Ray Dawson

Well, here's the updated information.

I got my scope on Friday and mounted it Friday night. Yesterday, Sunday, I was able to get to the range. I had bought some cheap Federal 55gr .223 at Walmart (100rounds for $39.00). I hadn't even shot the LTR yet so this was the first time for everything. After bore-sighting (which was easier than I expected) I zeroed the scope at 100yds and started running thru my cheap ammo. I am really impressed so far with the combo. It easily kept sub-MOA groups. Can't wait to see what she'll do when I work-up a load for her. I'll post a couple pictures ASAP. Even a picture of my last shot of the day... It's a good one. Thanks to all for the encouragement! I know it's not a $2500 US Optics or anything but I appreciate the help. My total investment in this rifle, including the Optics, is just a little over $900.00!!!

The second picture is the last shot of the day... Yes, it was a single shot... Not the one that finally hit after shooting all day! I know you guys all too well!... LOL!

ETA: The range was 100yds... Almost no wind.
