I'm looking to put a new scope on my .260 rem. I do some shooting out to 600 yds. I also use this gun to hunt, this is my one gun. I'm looking for a decent scope, the New bushnell 3-12X 44MM - IR BTR, MIL looks like it has all the features I like. I'm interested in hearing from people that have owned one of the high end bushnell scopes and how they feel about it. I've read some threads here and I completely realize that NF, USO, S&B are better, I get that. I dont have the cash to lay out 2k for scope and rings etc. Any constructive help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Bushnell Elite Tac.

I had one, and I loved it. It is an excellent value for a trustworthy scope. My only complaint was the Mil-Dot reticle, but now it seems Bushnell has solved this problem for 2012. I think that now (more than ever)they are going to give the Vortex PST a run for their money

Buy with confidence

Re: Bushnell Elite Tac.

The reticle choice was about the only thing I didn't like about the Elite Tactical scopes. That has been resolved for this year.

The Bushnells don't compare to $2K scopes. IMHO they are at the top of the heap of $1K scopes.

Re: Bushnell Elite Tac.

Have you had a chance to shoot the SWFA 5-20?

I have 4 of those and have been impressed when I compare it to a Nightforce NXS. I am very much interested to hear how the SWFA would compare to the Bushnell. I am in to process of replacing some Leupold Mil/MOA scopes and am looking for some thing in the $1,000 - $1,500 range.

Thanks,

RB

Should have one arriving soon.

The reticle is accurate and works. It's just the fact that standard Mildot reticles have been eclipsed by newer designs. If you like a Mildot, then it's a great option. I have been spoiled by the newer choices.

Understandable, and thanks for the clarification.

Re: Bushnell Elite Tac.

I have one of the mil-dot ones on my wife's match rifle and it's a great scope. I am going to pick up one of the new ones when they come out for another rifle.

Re: Bushnell Elite Tac.

One of my Staff Members just put a Bushnell Elite Tactical 3-12 FFP with the MILDOT reticle / .1 MIL turrets on his Savage 10-FCP. So far, the glass is awesome for what he paid, the reticle subtends accurately throughout the power range, and the turrets track and return to zero with no issue.

Bushnell has really stepped up to the plate this year.

Re: Bushnell Elite Tac.

I have one on my Landtec that goes to work with me every night and I really like it. It does everything I need it to and it has never let me down. As an SRU sniper I train twice a month with it and I don't abuse it but it doesn't get babied either. It is the only FFP scope that I have ever had in which the reticle is large enough on the low end and small enough on the high end to suit me. I had a Razor 5-20 and it was an awesome scope but to me the reticle was way too small on 5x and way to big on 20x, that's just my opinion though.

Re: Bushnell Elite Tac.

Hey you should check out the Bushnell 3.5-21x51 Elite Tactical HDMR w/ the DMR horus and more. I just got one on order and its gonna be awsome. They run about 1400 for a DMR or other rets. The Horus runs 1600. It is mil/mil, FFP, 34mm main tube. From what I understand GAP sat down and helped Bushnell make a line of higher end bushnell optics. Not to sure on the details but I know GAP was for sure involved in the HDMR.

Re: Bushnell Elite Tac.

Thank you all for your input. It seems folks are satisfied with the products. I'm going to look into the Elite 3-12X 44MM - IR BTR, MIL for my gun. Bushnell's site says they will be available in March.

On another note, I have to apologize, I'm very new to forum posting and have posted this same question twice and apologize for wasting your time if you read it twice. had my head up my a$$. I'm using "my brain" now so I should be good.

Thanks for the info.
