So, I've been planning on picking this up for a while and now it will be coming this Tuesday. I had an interesting conversaton with Bushnell not too long after I purchased mine. I voiced my discontent with the model not having a built in adapter for a tripod and they responded saying they hadn't heard of anyone wanting a tripod or it and that there was no way to attach them. The rep mentioned using one of the gorilla pods (which I have) and that would be the only way.

Ironically, not only do they sell universal tripod adapters for binos... They picture the Fusion range finding model as what the strap is holding...
It's far from ideal but at least it's something, and from the picture there is no interference with the buttons on top. It looks like it was designed around it. Hopefully the buckle type will be steady enough to hold well in place. Reviews suggested it could be tighter.

Here's a pic, I will follow up with it when they come in.

PRS has been making them for a while. </div></div>

+1. It works great with a wide variety from Leica to Bushnell. </div></div>

What type of strap holds it in place? I can't tell from the pics. Is it the same buckle type Bushnell uses or is it an improvement?. Looks very modestly priced, I paid $18 I believe with shipping for the one on the way. There were a number of universal ones from Swarovski etc... that commanded upward of $80+

Would have been nice if they just produced it with a threaded battery extension instead of having to do this wrap...

It's velcro straps which IMO is better than a buckle and makes quick work of adjustments for different optics use. I'll take some photo's later and post them for you if you want.

Re: Bushnell Fusion Tripod Adapter

Edit: didnt see you already posted the pic. Must not have refreshed my screen. Thanks for putting it up

(That would be great, id appreciate to see pics with it set up. The velcro sounds like it would take up slack better than using a buckle. I may have to reconsider my purchase when it gets here if its unable to stay snug. I probably should have asked around first. )

Thanks again-

Re: Bushnell Fusion Tripod Adapter

I don't know why they'd put a 25mm fastex buckle on the top where the buttons are on alot of LRF units... Clearly they didnt try hard enough when they copied Precision Rifle Solutions.

I've had one of their LRF cradles for 2 years and it's good to go, a single velcro strap with the foam adhesive base plate holds the LRF in place and is small when unclipped, throw it in your pocket or accessories pouch on a chest rig no problems.

Re: Bushnell Fusion Tripod Adapter

I bought one the PRS mounts when they first came out. It works great and allows you to range distant targets much more quickly.

My primary use for it is ranging p-dogs at 850 or further.

As another plus PRS is a small company, (husband and wife I believe) and they are both just awesome to deal with.

Re: Bushnell Fusion Tripod Adapter

I must say, it looks like a nice, well thought out product or the money. Maybe it's the stitching and color, but reminds me of Magpul's sling. I like the idea, the band looks a bit thin... Maybe that makes it more versatile but I would pay for the additional material to wider, larger surface area for the Velcro.

That's quite impressive for a small place like that to keep U.S. made prices on a woven product that low. Is that their labeled product or just something they sell? We'll see on Tuesday, but I have a feeling I will end up ordering that instead.

*Since I'm on the topic, have any of you found a nice tripod match and seperate window kit for these binos? My current one does not have nice adjustments; very difficult to make small changes.

Thanks again for the pics and all the input, it's much appreciated.

The velcro is sturdier than you think and by keeping it thin it allows full function without interference. For a tripod I have a Manfrotto 055XPROB with the 322RC2 joystick head. It's a little spendy, but its easy to make fine adjustments and the tripod is built like a tank. If you're looking to pick up a new tripod I'd give Doug a call at CameraLandNY. He's a Vendor here on the hide as well.

Re: Bushnell Fusion Tripod Adapter

I've had one of Danel's, PRS, mounting plates since they first came out, the one inch velcro will hold anything you put on the plate just fine.

PRS, carries a line of tripods too that work very well for field use. Give him a shout and go over your requirements and he'll get you sorted out.

I always forget that... Need more coffee...

Re: Bushnell Fusion Tripod Adapter

Here's some pics of the tripod adapter that came in. I don't think I'm a fan of the buckle, it does hold it down but the Velcro seems like a better idea to me.

Haven't decided yet whether or not its going back. If it is, it will surely be replaced by the PRS. Thanks for the info, I wish I had asked ahead and could have thought it through.
