Rifle Scopes Butler Creeks and Vortex Viper

Just FYI, the objective caps for the Viper 44mm and 50mm scopes are different sizes than those that fit their respective sunshades. I have no idea why, but it is what it is.

For the Viper 44mm scopes, the BC cap for the scope is 33obj; for its sunshade its 31obj.

For the Viper 50mm scopes, the BC cap is 43obj; for the sunshade its 40obj

Its a number 18 ...... I got my scope and covers from Scott. I bought the 33 for the objective and then when the sunshade came in I found out that it was too big. I found a 30 on clearance from Walmart one day when I was in there and just bought it and keep the 33 in my bag incase I pull the sunshade off I can just throw the 33 on it and still have a front cap. I will leave the 30 on the sunshade cause it is a TIGHT fit.

Outsyd, Are you pretty well satisfied with your Viper so far? I've got a friend that has one on a 300RUM and it's as clear as any Nikon or Leupold I've looked thru even on 20 power in low light. I'm impressed enough that I'm gonna order one from Scott @ Liberty on Monday.

I replace my Vortex flip caps on my Razor HD when I purchased the tenebraex killflash ARD. The BC cap that fits over the ARD is #43. Just to let you know if you're interested.

Scott I love the Razor HD. The next time I order a scope it will be with you. Thanks for all the help.

I guess when you order the scope with sunshade and BC covers you get sent the ones which fit the sunshade?

I am happy with my Viper so far.

And I almost suggest to buy the smaller BC for the sunshade and leave it on the sunshade. If you dont need the sunsahde you will have the cap to fit the objective itself.
