Buying a bench?

So I am just looking to get started with reloading. I have bought all of the equipment I need, but I don't have a reloading bench. I've seen several plans for building one yourself, but I don't have the tools or (ashamedly) the desire to do it myself ...not to mention I'm not the handiest of guys.

Has anyone here bought a bench they have been very happy with? I've seen a couple at Harbor Freight, but I'm not sure they're sturdy enough. Sears has nice Craftsman benches you can spec out yourself, but they're a little on the pricey side.

OK I know you said you dont want to build one but if you have what it takes to reload building a bench is nothing. If you live near a home depot they will cut the wood. All you have to do is screw it together with drywall screws when you get it home. So all you need is a cordless drill, some drywall screws and a trip to home depot with a shopping list. You will be amazed how easy it is with a few 2x4s and some MDF or plywood.

Go to Ikea, I see there are two in MD. They have cabinet bases and some butched block tops. The tops are heavy duty, come in various sizes, etc.

I was looking at the NRMA plans, but figured I'd need a table saw for most of the big cuts. I wasn't aware Home Depot would make the cuts for you.

here some. This table will require 2 poeple plus dollie to move it. You could put 5000 lbs. on it.

I prefer the maple slabs like the first one on top. That is what I use in my loading room.

Solid core doors make great benchtops. Most commercial door vendors have assloads of incorrectly machined or othewise useless doors for the asking. many exciting species to shoose from but good old red oak is tough to beat. When it gets pounded, years down the road, replace it or glue an exciting color of plastic laminate on it!

If you had the good sense to live in West central Florida, I'd bring one to you and fabricate the bench in exchange for the paltry sum of a few cold drinks and sevral thousand Lira.

I went ahead and bought a set of the 2x4 workbench legs ...so I'm gonna build my own.

I used the 2x4 Basic shelf links to build overhead shelves. They worked great.

those are some nice benches especially the ones with the butcher

Good, I always think that reloaders are do it yourself kind of guys anyways.
