If I were to buy a rifle that has already been registered to a person and has paid the tax stamp. Does one have to pay a tax stamp again on the same unit? Is the tax just to register it in the new persons name? So I guess what im saying if a suppressed gun is sold ten times with same setup will each person have to pay the tax. Thanks

Re: Buying a suppressed gun from individual

Even if a person sells it to a licensed dealer a tax is paid, if a person sells it to another person across state lines then two taxes are paid.

If you die then the heir gets the silencer tax free.

In/Out of a government deptartment, tax free.

The same can be said of why do they need your fingerprints and mugshot everytime you do the paperwork and the answer is - because they said so.
