caliber sizes?? still dont know what to choose.

Hi, I went to the rifle range yesterday to see what caliber people use but theyvare only all 6mm br. I want a caiber to go hunting pigs, wild dogs, kangaroo's, (sizes of pigs here are in excess of 80+kilo's or 176+lb.) I wanna be able to go have a few shots at the range and go for a hunt, I am going to reload my own bullets but will buy a packet of ammo every now and again when I'm feeling lazy.. was looking at 243 or 308, I like the 243 cause its fast and flat shooting.

What would you choose? And why? Thanks again...

.260 rem or 6.5 variation is worth a look too for your needs... middle of the road between your two choices and lots of benefits in the 130 to 140 grain bullets

A 260 shooting the Berger 130VLD at 3,000 will be plenty flat with much better barrel life than a 243.
