Calif. fires, very sad

I thought last I saw they didn't have a cause. I don't miss the wildfires there one bit. We have had to run from too many of them. I would take the Texas tornadoes and storms over that crap any day.

I realize there are good patriots still left in that shit hole of a state, and I hope they will be safe. But otherwise, let that fucker burn to the ground. See if Mexico will take them.

Nothing wrong with me, at all, I care fir them muther fukers as much as they care for their own state, which is not at all. And they sure as fuk dont care for me or my state, not one bit, they don't even care for their own goddam neighbors.

Yes AJ, there is something wrong. You are so filled with hate you have no sympathy for another human under great duress who is different than you.

Their politics and shoving their ideas down our throats is BS. People losing their livelyhood, homes, memories, and lives is very very sad.

Prayers for them and the firefighters battling it.

With this one I am going to disagree with some on here.
I hate California politics and sure as Hell do not like them moving to my great state of Colorado[and we have lots of them that have moved here already and destroyed what they moved here for] and bringing their Liberal sense of politics with them and over running my Home.
With that said, I would not wish these fires to burn their homes down. That is pretty cruel. It may be that the Great Spirit is giving them what they deserve, but where are they going to go? I hope places other than Colorado as we have No Vacancy and can't take care of what we have got.
Maybe they will go to Texas!! How will you Texans like that?
Are you a Texan, born and raised there, or a transplant adding to their woes much like what has happened here in Colorado?
I do wonder if some of these fires started in Homeless/Hobo camps that seem to proliferate all over the USA? Those fuckers are everywhere, no matter where you look.and as in San Diego, are causing major health problems with Hepatitis being a thing there.
Do you want tent cities springing up around your home?
Something needs to be done there and I think welfare reform is but a start. Open up BIG mental institutions and pack them full where they get washed and shit in toilets etc.
Look back at CCC and WPA and learn from the past. Rant over. FM

Or NIMBY. Don't need them in my back yard at all. Maybe Arizona, no wait, there are too many that have moved there from NE states like NY that they are over run.
We just have too many damn people. Something will thin the herd and it won't be pretty.

Foul Mike is right yall..
we don't want them parasites carpet-baggin their way on down here to GA, that's for certain. Enought trouble already counteractin dumbass Atlanta's influence as it is.
Californ-yankees ain't all bad apparently.. I enjoy some a them Norcal Practical Precision Rifle Club videos - there's some squared away shooters in that little league/club.

I concur. We do not want them nor need them, but they are all still displaced and going somewhere. I just hope it is not here in Colorado. FM
There are some good people out there and I pray for them. They probably don't like the politics in Cal either but are caught up in it and feel no way they can change it so are looking to move out rather than effect change. I hate quitters. But I do understand having been overrun before..

Here in Montana we have a bumper sticker that reads "Don't Californicate Montana". It would be one thing if they left their nasty, degenerate leftist ideology back in their former cesspool of a state. But no, they bring it with them. Not all, but many, many do. So when I see those fucking California plates running around my state, I pray that they are tourists soon to leave and not house shopping.

Kinda reminds ya of "immigrants" doesn't it?

Yes it does from my side of the fence. I too have bumper stickers. My favorite is a Colo, Mountain scene like what is on cars and trucks plates in the back window.
"No Vacancy" Tells it like it is.
We do not have enough water to support the newcomers likes for green grass everywhere.
We live in a desert and all water comes from the Mountains. There it is. FM

Not one person discussing the mos management of public lands in CA.

Treating forests like a resource- harvesting trees, planting seedlings, removing diseased and or dead trees

The sides of the 405 freeway were 10’ deep in scrub brush so of course it looked like an inferno.

Who owns or manages this land? Why no fire breaks and no abatement of overgrown vegetation????

every decade California repeats the same process....

fire...
flood / mudslide...
Drought
El Niño and floods
lots of new growth

its nature. The cycles repeat....

"We Californians are pissed about Trump and morals and decency and anything of good character . Therefore FUCK YOU , we are seceeding !!!!! Oh wait we burnt the shit hole down .
We Californians are pissed and vow to move to your state and Fuck it like a three dollar crack whore . " A PSA from the Peoples Republic of Sodom and Gomora .

How about just send them to some other state where people already think the way they do......good god I can’t believe you guys want to spread that disease around to every state. I don’t wish ill will on innocent people, but hard for me to have sympathy for people that want to undermine the constitution I look at them as traitors. I think Hillary Clinton has broken more laws than any one and will probably never see a day in a court room over it she has done things that the average citizen would already be in jail for. So I have little sympathy for a state as a whole who wanted to make her my president.

I'm from so Cal. This was always my bitch. My house had made it through the huge pines fire in 2004 iirc because I kept the crap around the house controlled. We were backed up to national Forest land. I usually maintained a 100 fire break there also. I actually had a NF person show up when I was plowing it one day and told me they were going to fine me for destruction of public property. She never showed back up. I planted oats and wheat in that section I plowed up later that year. It was just 4-5' high scrub that burns like gasoline. I would normally keep it shredded when conditions allowed running the shredder.

One of the reasons the fire breaks are not there is the red tape, and cost. Some of those areas would be really hard to manage with equipment, but cows, goats, sheep, will do a number on it.

Reading this thread, I just kind of shake my head with people's impressions of all Californians. At any rate...

The fire breaks being cut is a case of politicians shifting funding from budgets that are supposed to do that, to the retirement fund for state government employees; it's a huge problem that they keep ignoring (and it will eventually bite them in the ass).

We nearly lost our house in 2007 (had the gas meter/line blow up, but fortunately the fire fighters were down the street at the a time and raced get the fire out most riki-tik), and afterwards there was talk of suing the city. You see, our houses back up to a "green belt" and lake/reservoir. As such, it is illegal for us to clear brush (though many of us had already done so many times). Due to the talk of suing the city, every year now, the local jail house chain gang comes out and clears 50ft of brush from the back property line.

I'm thinking there's going to be more brush clearing in LA in the future.

Honestly though, there are parts of LA that need to burn down...it's a fucking cesspool. Not wishing harm on folks per se, but there's a time when you can't "revitalize" an area, and it just needs to be burned to the ground to force a change/redevelopment.

I can't wait to get out of this State, but for now, I just deal with the stupidity and bide my time...

Can't wait to see if the State Tax deduction gets removed by the tax reform bill. A very shrewd move IMO; make the liberals look to their own state legislature for answers/repercussions of high taxes, instead of blaming the federal government or expecting them to solve it. I'll take it in the shorts tax wise, but it needs to happen, to make the liberals (painfully aware) that tax dollars come from their own pockets (not subsidized by federal tax dollars).

Rant over...

Good watch in Netflix right now; Fire Chasers. Chronicles a lot of the crap going on out there.

Here in FL, we have mitigation teams that go out into the Wildland/Urban Interface, especially in places where houses literally butt up against the trees. We try to educate people to at least give a 30 foot minimum defensible space between their house and the brush so if fire does come, we have some room to put in a line (dozer, handling, wetline, etc).

One thing that I don’t understand is the mismanagement. If the trees are dying from the drought, why not plow them down and try to re-seed? Remove the dead fuels that are just drying out and going from 1000 hour fuels to lighter fuels and just influencing fire growth. Saw this personally this year in Utah when the fire ripped into a beetle kill in Panguitch and just consumed all the dead wood and ran. Sad but sometimes they do it to themselves.
