California ice skater that gave up her U.S. citizenship to skate for China finishes last

none of them were permitted to speak German and told, 'you're in America now, we're Americans, learn English!'
My mother would not speak German in our house - she was very concerned about being "americanized". I am the only one of my cousins who doesn't speak it now. Problem: in dementia some will often regress to their natal tongue.

And I'll bet your grandpapa swore an oath somewhere along the line. Swore an oath to become an American citizen, swore an oath when he got drafted...

My point: you don't like this sort of thing, then advocate that being born in America should only be the legal basis for being a US National until you choose to make your way to your local federal building and swear out an oath to the Constitution. Only then do you become a fully-fledged Citizen. No dual citizenship allowed, etc.

Edited to add: Modern America is basically a "don't ask, don't tell" nation regards individual commitment by "citizens" to the nation.
Everyday at school and many times since I swore an oath to this country in saying the Pledge of Allegiance:

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

And then another oath when I joined the military.

For those of us that do not just say the words but actually mean them, this is our oath, our word.

I'll subscribe to that.

Don't forget Eileen Gu who did the same thing and renounced her US citizenship but will of course go to college in the US.

Living in our country and choosing to speak one's native language instead of English is a sure sign they don't want to assimilate. In the past, immigrants embraced English as part of their dream of becoming an American. Dem policies have labeled that reasonable expectation as 'racist' and 'xenophobic'.

European immigrants on average have always been the best fit for America, and that's why the Dems forced through the Immigration Act of 1965 to destroy that with chain migration from much poorer and lesser educated places like Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, Asia.

Demographics is destiny.

If they did it’d probably look like the squid games.

If you’re Chinese and you’re disabled, it’s probably because you or your parents pissed off evil spirits. Unless you can afford rhino horn and tiger jizz to cure it you’re fucked.
The ones born with deformities are the first to go on the American market for adoption or scrapped for black market body parts.

Those people are savages and the American Leftists who are their market can then brag they adopted a snorting, hairlipped little girl with learning disabilities from China.

China doesn't allow dual-citizenship. She made the choice to renounce American citizenship. America was not the problem here. We we're not standing in her way.

There is a lot of hesitancy to speak out because the similar (but not the same!) things happened to US Citizens in WW2 of Japanese ancestry. But riddle me this Batman what was the difference? They made the choice to stay here. None of them renounced their citizenship despite being shit on by the US.

Yes, and we start with the White Progressives!
Don't be racist.

Deport ALL progressives!

I love the Olympics, but they don’t mean anything anymore except for the name.

All athletes train in different countries and compete for different colleges now.

You can have a “Japanese” high diver who trained at Texas A&M

Does that mean they are diving for the US or for Japan.

30 years ago it was Czech vs Italy, country bs country. That meant something.

I’ll still watch and hope we get the most medals but after the USSR collapsed everything changed

No more Yugoslavian judge giving a 7.5 on a 9.0 routine etc.
It has changed. I remember watching them on black and white TV delayed from Europe. Remember this one?

My grandparents came here LEGALLY from Mexico, became American citizens, picked the fields and had absolutely zero connection to Mexico after that. She only spoke Spanish in the house. English outside and instilled how great America is to all of us.
