Hey, thinking about adding the Lithgow to my collection. Can any of you owners tell me the pros and cons? Would you buy one again if your current one was stolen, destroyed or whatever the case?

My daughter has one, it’s a shooter for sure. Very accurate! Not as accurate as our Vudoo, Izhmash or the Anschutz. But better than any Savage or CZ I have had. I have not played with a Tikka.
The stock trigger does need the spring reduction kit.
Also to get it to fit my daughter I had to get creative with some add ons, see pic below. The oem plastic stock is a hunter style which she does not shoot well.
What really needs to happen with this rifle to make it take off is some chassis manufacturer needs to make a chassis for it. If that happened it would really take off. It is a great rifle.

One of the top rimfire shooters at our club has one. While I never shot it, I did get to see how it would stack up against a variety of factory sporter rifles like the CZ's, Brno, Cooper, Mod 52, Annies, etc. He could consistently score in the top 4 with it but had trouble winning. When he shoots his mod 54 Anschutz HB he is usually the one to beat. I was impressed with the Lithgow fit, finish and general overall quality. As I recall, I think he said it cost about 2x what a CZ455/457 might cost. I have seen used ones for $700.

On a 50y BR tgt with 250pts possible, he would score 240-244 with the Lithgow and 248-249 with the annie 54. My CZ452 American was closer to 238pts while by Win mod 52 was 246-249.

One thing I did not address with my comments, as above the fit and finish of the rifle are very nice. The bolt manipulation is very smooth and has a solid feel to it. It has a solid feel to it.

Thanks for all the replies. I like a variety of 22's and the Lithgow is one I don't have yet.

Knowing what you do now, would you buy another one if something happened to your current one?

I think of question as they come to mind, right now I have two.

    1. Does the bullet engage the rifling on bolt closure?
    2. Is the bolt knob replaceable and if so does anyone know the thread size?

    KOD,
What did you ever decide on the Lithgow? Is anyone making a chassis for it yet? Like you, I like a variety of guns.
