I have the oppertunity to pick up a second hand/used T3 Tactical in .223, around 800 rounds through it from new....The guy who is selling it is looking for €500 for it, seems like a great deal....Getting to have a look at it next week, just hoping that the owners on here could give me the pro's and con's on it, thanks guys. Any and all comments welcomed.

Re: Calling all Tikka T3 Tactical owners

Pros---
-they usually shoot well
-it is already threaded for brake or silencer
-adjustable comb
-already has a base mounted
-6 round magazine
-nice adjustable trigger
Cons--
-stock has lots of flex if using a bipod
-expensive magazines

Cant think of anything else. I am sure you will like it. I had three but am down to 2 right now. I like them.

Re: Calling all Tikka T3 Tactical owners

I have a Tactical T3 in 308 with the 20" barrel and love it. I'm getting clover groupings easily at 100 yards, 0.4 - 0.7 MOA, with match ammo. Yes mags are expensive but compared to the AI/AICS system mags or even SAKO TRG mags, they are a bargain. The trigger is great, the stock feels a little too flimsy but the groupings say it all. Buy it and you wont be disappointed. In fact, I'm getting another T3 with the 24" barrel shortly.

Re: Calling all Tikka T3 Tactical owners

Unless you specifically want the threaded metric barrel and the factory adjustable cheek piece - I would think the T3 varmint would be a better deal. You could always drop it in a Manners stock or RCS in the future.

Re: Calling all Tikka T3 Tactical owners

its the 24inch barrel model....i have a Sako TRG 22, so i was thinking of getting this as its 'little brother'....I hadn't heard that the stocks were flimsy....do they flex much on the pod?

Re: Calling all Tikka T3 Tactical owners

I wouldnt call the stock flimsy. Wrong word. It does have a fair bit of flex between the bipod and monopod I am using. Not a big deal and I am getting a manners stock for it that should eliminate that flex. It is a matter of preference.

Re: Calling all Tikka T3 Tactical owners

I was just shooting one today, my friend has one in 308 with a heavy barrel from the factory. We were just punching paper at 100 yards with a load he worked out and the holes were touching all day, no homo.

Are you getting a heavy barrel? Because he liked the T3 in 308 so much he went and got one in .223 but it wasn't a heavy barrel so he said it would shoot great at first but unless he waited for the barrel to cool off his groups would go to shit. Might not be like that with every rifle they make though.

Re: Calling all Tikka T3 Tactical owners

Yeah its the heavy barrel version....i dont like light barrels for anything bar hunting, i have a Steyr Scout in .308, have to wait at least 3 mins between shots on the range to let it cool down....crazy stuff
