Camo Zombie Slayer (with pics)

I've taken a regular run of the mill .22LR rifle and created a zombies nightmare.
(Or maybe a squirrels nightmare)


Before:
Remington 597

And after:

I stripped down my 597, cleaned every surface with acetone and hit it with the three color krylon special.
I picked up three cans of Krylon Camo paint from Canadian Tire, khaki, olive, and brown. I did one full base coat on every part with the khaki, then took some pieces of cedar to use as a template an sprayed on the olive and brown. Finished it off with a matte clear coat.

This is my first time camo painting anything and there are a few blemishes/screw ups but overall I'm very impressed with the results.

Hows it shoot? Tasco scope?

Looks like the scope is mounted a little high for good cheek weld. Dont know if I like the clear coat, but the camo job looks good.

love the paint, not a fan of clear coat tho.. my 597 has taken many a little critter, yours looks like it will do the same!

Scope is a Bushnell, and the clear looks way more glossy in the pics than in real life. There are pot lights right above the rifle which makes it look like shiny, it actually looks pretty dull in person.

I just wasn't happy with how the paint felt before the clear, it was rough and dry feeling. Now with the matte clear it looks and feels just right in person.

The beauty of krylon camo is that when it wears thru, just spray it again.

Looks great! I tend to paint gap camo and other designs on my rifles, but this design is what really blends in best in my surroundings. You should be able to sneak right up on them!
