Can i put a limbsaver recoil pad on my H S precision stock?

Mine has the factory remington hard butpad on it and i have a limbsaver that looks like a perfect fit. Will i ruin my stock if i remove the factory pad,i understand they are glued on.
Is there anything solid in the stock for the screws to bite into so they wont pull out?

Your best bet would be to cut the rubber off and leave the base attached. Sand it flat and then attach the limb saver. There is solid material in the butt piece but is like a foam rubber and doesn't hold threads very well. I ended up gluing threaded inserts into mine and also used epoxy when threading the pad on

Or use the slip on version.

I did that with my HS stock, and the stock pack from Triad covered most of the slip on, except where it mattered.

Took seconds to put on and worked great for me.

Plus One on the Slip On. Mine works great. I needed the extra LOP anyway.
