Has anyone used a regular pic rail mounted under the forearm of your chassis (cantilevered) as a spigot mount for a bipod?

I have a Bergara chassis that a spigot is not available for, and was wondering if this would be a solution that would work without a lot of flex?

    Thanks

I think the thickness will be the biggest issues. Most pic rails are awfully thin along the axis it would be bending on.

I know brownells has picatiny blanks that come in foot long lengths etc and are more square sized vs the thin typical low profile as possible.
Not sure how you would need to go about drilling it to attach to the chassis. Maybe just holes and some of the cheap little mlock backers.

It’ll look dumb but practically it wont be that different than what we do in my schuetzen club with a front cleat an inch back from the muzzle to push into the front rest barrier. Most arent as nicely integrated into the stock itself with the same rod extending from muzzle to butt like in my Wayne Young stock and rather they just screw into the bottom on an anschutz rail or are simply bolted on through the stock.

Ive wondered why there isnt a chassis with a full length forend yet.

The BT63 or the MPA might work. I was hoping to do this without having to resort to a dremel but that may not be the case.

So I borrowed an MPA Spigot and it’s going to work with a little work. Same threads as the bipod stud on the chassis so I can use that hole for the rear screw. All I will have to do is drill/tap for the front.

I don’t have the spigot anymore I had to give it back. They seem to be all out of stock at the moment.

It wouldn’t fit inside the forend and still clear the barrel. I’ll end up mounting it to the bottom of the forend after drilling and tapping the front hole.
