Nothing crazy new, but a good first opening for Captain Marvel

Brie Larson is clearly having fun and her attitude makes the character shine.

The 90s stuff was fun, the story was decent and the backstory stuff fit in with previous lore.

The Cat stole the show based on theater reactions.

Strong Female Role Model, good for young girls to see, the stand-up montage worked great.

Interesting spin on the story, not Earth shattering but good.

Excited to see the tie ins to Avengers if nothing else, I was worried this would suck hard but everyone seems to say it’s ok so I’ll see it this weekend.

It was a fun little ride, and fit right in with the Marvel Universe

I saw her social justice, we hate white men crap on TV and figure she is just mad she lost her nads and still wants to be a man in the movies. Whatever the case, I never had a female child or grandchild I'd treat with so much disrespect that I'd pay money to take her to a movie that treats men in general and me personally with contempt and disrespect.

Captain marvel has been a butch woman in the comics for years now, used to be Ms. Marvel, a completely forgettable character who’s only real claim to fame was providing Rogue with her non-power-stealing powers and being in a coma.

The character has had multiple titles cancelled because literally no one gives a single fuck about her.

It sounds like the movie was well executed though, as you would expect from Marvel at this point. They haven’t had a really bad stinker since Thor 2

After watching it yesterday I'd rate this one as about on par with Dark World and Iron Man 2. My reaction can be summed up more or less as "meh."

Thankfully it didn't have the heavy SJW slant that some were expecting (though there was a little if you looked for it).

Otherwise it's pretty much a B-, certainly no Wonder Woman and not on par with the better, more recent Marvel stuff. It's damn sure no Ragnarok, Civil War, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc.

Fans of the comics will probably hate it as they seem to have taken some pretty big liberties with the source material (some of it is eye-rollingly bad). Still, like you said, most fans of the comics don't care about the Captain Marvel character anyways.

I'm just hoping they don't ruin Endgame by allowing Danvers to overshadow the more established characters.

If you’re following the rumors they cut two edits of Endgame, one with much much less Captain Marvel in case this didn’t go over well.

I would argue that since money was exchanged it is no longer rape. It would be considered a long-distance, non physical escort service once removed.

Now mashing your pud multiple times and only paying for one viewing would just be considered a great value.

If you are a fan of the other Marvel Universe movies then you'll like this one, it was entertaining and filled in some storyline gaps, but defiantly not the best of the series nor the worst.

Oh I'll see it ...eventually. But i won't buy a ticket. it will be on tv in a few months where my dollar is spread over a bunch of different viewing options which works out to be mere pennies. I thought it was dripping with girl power social justice PC BS. Even Nick Fury was feminized. And it blatantly ripped off several other movies.
