So I’ve been running a couple C6 barrels my most recent being in a 7mm rem mag, I’ve got to say these guys are incredible smiths. My 6mm Creedmoor I sent to Gene and they went ahead and trued the action barreled it up for me and it shoots lights out. My 7 mag though I just got a couple months ago, called them up and had them cut me a barrel for an untrued remmy cut to there recoil lug. We installed the barrel and the headspace is absolutely perfect! Now this is where it really gets interesting. I am running Nosler brass. I loaded up my first set of rounds using N565 I loaded all rounds 10k off the lands and started at 60 grains and worked my way up to 62.5 grains in half grain inc. I also loaded up 5 rounds to get my scope on paper running NF 7x35 Milxt. Second round bullseye. I did not follow any break in procedure I just shot this thing. Every group I shot with it from 60 grains to 62.5 grains looked like this.

So I had no signs of pressure but I figured hell it shoots these groups I’m getting a 195 Berger out at 2750 FPS I will stick with 62.5 grains, easiest load development I’ve ever done! So I took the shot brass home went to size them and the handle on my press damn near falls down!! Like no pressure at all to resize my brass!?! So I thought that’s odd but I have used these dies for years and never had an issue. So I set that brass aside and decided to test some more. I loaded up 10 new Nosler brass at 62.5 grains the brass measured between 2.487 and 2.490 so I set my trimmer to the shortest brass and trimmed them all to 2.487.. went and shot them when I re measured them they were between 2.487 and 2.489, so I resized them same thing happened almost no pressure checked length again and most of them didn’t change, 2 of them changed .001 in length!! I was like awesome. So I loaded them back up and I have shot those 10 brass 6 times now and the brass looks incredible still! The primer pockets have not loosened up much and they are all still under 2.490!! This is the smoothest chamber that I have ever owned. Not sure what carbon 6 did but this rifle is lights out in all categories!! Super impressed. Thus far I have shot around 200 rounds through it and it is shooting incredible, 195 grain Berger’s ring the 1k yard plate big time!
