Cargo Drawer for SUV?

I'm about to get a new SUV and looking for a roll out drawer to put in the cargo area. Plan is to keep a few range essentials in there so that I don't to take them in and out of the car. Like ear and eye pro, spray paint, staple gun, paper targets etc. Would be nice to have a slot for a rifle or 2. I'm not looking to have like a weapons locker in my car for full time rifle storage, just would be nice if it had like a carpeted interior so I could grab a rifle or 2 out of the safe and lay them in this drawer instead of getting a case, putting the gun in the case, and then throwing it in the back.

Anyone have any recommendations on what company makes a good one? Any experiences with bad ones I should stay away from?

Just out curiosity but why not just have a range bag/box and case(s) to leave in the back?

Also, ARB makes nice stuff. I used to want something from Truck Vault but I don't like that they're made of MDO.

My experience is that smaller stuff is going to fly around in turns if not secured. Drawer systems can be pricey and somewhat inflexible. You know Murphy's law; the item is either too wide or too long for the drawer.

A good middle ground is IMO a concrete mixing tub or small game sled secured with bungees or held to the carpet with strips of velco.

I loved the hell out of my security drawer when I had my SUV. But since I switched to a truck the last few years, I have no place to put it. I could carry a small arsenal and no one could tell.

Are they not 'weatherstripped' or whatever, that you can use it in the bed of the truck?
Seeing as they lock, and most tailgates lock nowadays, I was thinking that this was still a viable option. No?
