ThanksLook at the SAAMI spec sheet
The chances of SAAMI max and your chambers max being the same are slim to none. The sheet shows max and then -
The so what is if you have a long chamber and you trim to SAAMI max then you going to be coming up short on the lands with VLD's. If your loading for something that is prone to carbon rings then trimming too far under chamber max is going to make it worse and contribute to throat erosion. If you have a short chamber and go by SAAMI, you causing a who different shit show. Point being, SAAMI is great if the barrel was chambered to it, but most factor barrels play it safe because people don't trim their brass, and custom barrels get reamed based on the reamer the customer asked for. It's the fucking tolerance for that cartridge that is on the spec sheet and you are entirely correct. You may have a chamber +/- the Max. So what. If you're a little short you know how short you can go. But kudo on bringing up the obvious missing point.
