Cases for: Large Bolt Action Pistol

I have a large bolt action pistol in 6.5x47 Lapua with a 15" Walther barrel and is topped off with a Zeiss Conquest 4-14x50MM scope. I'm looking for a soft tactical case without magazine pockets or hard case to fit. Dimensions: Pistol is 30" overall length, 15" high and 2 1/2 deep. Sort of looks like the Weatherby pistols but with a much longer barrel. I kind of like the discreet soft cases out there. I've seen the form fitting hard gun cases but it will cost me well over $300 for the case. Does anybody custom make soft discreet gun cases or have any good ideas. Thanks. PAT.

Fairly discreet, 33" overall....damn, only 12" high.

Ouch...that's going to be a tough one. You are okay on OAL and depth, but the 15" height is going to be the deal-breaker for all of the standard "production" cases I am aware of (without going to a $250 or more hard case). Most of the "tactical" or other soft rifle/carbine cases with come in with max heights of not more than 13".

Your best bet may be to contact one of the "tactical nylon" specialists here on the forum and see what they can offer you tailor-made for your setup. Nick at GRT is a good example...see here:

When ya find a case to carry it around in you should plan on a trip over here in OHIO to Rayners Range or Thunder Valley and put it to use. Let it stretch it legs and have fun ringing some steel.

A buddy has a rear grip Striker and also a rear grip XP-700R that he keeps in one of the short tactical rifle bags which is nearly perfect fit.
