I have read some that I might have to modify for the Cdi bottom metal to work on the savage, or just misunderstood. Something about the bolt release. I have a Stevens 200 action, and will get the stock I order inletted for the Cdi. So my question is will it work without modification?

Re: CDI drop in fit for savage or not

It's going to require modification (inleting) to your stock.

It will not work for you if the bolt release button thing is on the front of the trigger guard. If you have the release on the back right side of the action body it will work (get the right length- 4.27 or 4.40 depending on which action you have), inlet it and you should be set.

Also, call CDI they can handle inletting for you and I'm sure answer any of your questions too.
