Hello ,I want to cerakote my rifle, and i havent done it before. My question is do you think its ok to use the high temp cerakote. I have 1 gallons of black, air dry cerakote. Or do you think i should just get the kind they offer for firearms

The high temp (V)version requires baking. You can order the (H)air dry version for around $40.

For weapons coatings "H" series is thermal cure. "C" is air cure.

Do not use the high temp stuff, much different then the stuff for firearms.

If it's C or H it's great. H is bake on, C is air cure.
Not sure what high temp your talking about.
C series is rated for very high temps I believe, but I'm not sure which series your talking about.

Oven cure is more durable but you need an oven and not the one in the house. You can't apply the oven cure to scopes. So it boils down to what equipment you have.
Oven and air cure of the same color will not be a perfect match so don't rely on that. Some colors that are available in oven cure are not available in air cure.
I strongly suggest you practice with this stuff before you jump in with both feet. It's not like spray paint and if you screw up during spraying you might as well take it off and start over. Very touchy stuff to work with, but very good when done correctly.

C air cure, H bake @ 350 or so, V bake up to 600 or 700.

We use C on everything. Bolts, scopes, stocks, barreled actions.
It's Tough as nails, and you don't need to mix parts or use an oven.
H is more scratch resistant, and salt water resistant, but it's not the only one to use. Infact if I had to chose only one to use exclusively, it'd be C because it does scopes and stocks too

OK, well i have access to an oven, I have one at work 8ft wide by 8 ft tall by 35 ft long. Its for powder-coating look here (http://www.x-tremepowdercoating.com/powder_coating). Also on another note I emailed Brandon Grady at NIC and he said the air dry high temp coating that i have will work just fine on the fireams

The air cure high temp will work, you don't want to use the thermal cure high temp because it needs over 500 degrees to cure. Like running the car after you spray the headers.
