I haven't seen very many pics or posts about Chad Dixon's work other than the massive bolt fluting group buy that he offered up. So I thought that I would share my experience with Chad and Long Rifles Inc.
I took my prairie doggin gun (22-250) to Chad back in Late February for a re-barrel and some action work. We talked out the details of what I wanted and he gave me a rough guess of how long it would take and the price. Everything sounded good to me so I left my gun and began the wait. He estimated about 4-6 weeks for the Brux barrel to come in and after it got there he would already have the action trued and drilled for one of his recoil lugs and the bolt fluted. The barrel took about 6 weeks to arrive just like he said and it only took him a few days after the barrel arrived to get it chambered and open up the stock a little for the slightly heavier barrel and test fire it. I have since go the gun back about 2 weeks ago and got the scope mounted and sighted in. I used my old load of 34 grains of Varget and .020 off the lands and went out to see how it grouped. My old go to load grouped about .75 MOA at 100. Not to bad for not changing anything but I knew it could get better so I went back and changed the load a little and tried again. This time I loaded 34.6 grains of Varget and .020 off the lands and it shot very well. The pic below is a 10 shot group at 100 yards. Overall my experience with Chad was very pleasant as he emailed updates as he had them and even called a few times just to touch base and let me know how things were coming along. I highly recommend anybody to Chad for their next build as I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out.
