I have seen a few Kestrel pouch threads lately, thought I would pass along mine. I have a pile of Blackhawk soft 9mm mag pouches with the kydex retention clip inside and velcro closure/retention strap on top. we went to different mag pouches, so I recycled a few.
If you remove the clip from the pouch it makes a perfect pouch for your Kestrel that can be clipped in to webbing on your pack, or inside a drag bag webbing.
I imagine many soft nylon/cordura pistol mag pouches will work perfectly.
