The best I ever saw was a F5 ding a low level pass along the highway outside of Hemmet, CA(March AB)
He came down from the front between the power poles over the rail tracks, down the tracks between the poles, then stood it on end and went straight up. Freakin impressive!

A childhood friend of mine used to fly F5's in the Aggressor Squadron at Nellis, back in the 1970's or 1980's.

While I was deployed we had to take turns manning the guard towers on the days we weren't going out on mission. One day me and my one roommate were up in the tower when we started to hear this sound that just built and built becoming this insanely loud roar. Both of us though that it was a rocket with our names on it, my roommate proned out on the floor of the tower and I took a knee looking back over the FOB just in time to see a jet, two engine type, come down over the top of the tower and buzz the barracks about 5 feet above the rooftops. It was insane as the jet had dropped below my line of sight. Turns out a lot of my buddies who were in the barracks and sleeping at the time thought for sure that they were all going to die from the noise.

Are they even breaking the sound barrier? Still cool vid though. Loved the one where the jet just shoots straight up. That's so freaking cool looking when they do that.

Not a fly by, but I remember vividly being at Pensacola NAS and watching a trio of Harrier jets rise straight up from behind a barrier between where we were and a hangar/ area where they kept planes then race off in formation.

The Harrier is my all time favorite fighter jet. The vertical take off looks so mesmerising. I heard they are a bitch to control during that.

I would imagine they are a bitch when "hovering" or whatever pilots call it. But they sure do look cool. It's the only time I've seen them I think, unless at an air show when I was a small child that I don't remember.

Number 3 is a bad ass for sure. I was in a boat going up a river and one snuck up from behind me right overhead. That was cool. I later found out that they would practice mock bombing along the waterway. Too Cool!

Closest thing I can relate that to (and sure it doesn't compare) is standing on the yellow double on the highway and a slick 750hp car come slipping by at a cool 178mph. Turbulence is a bitch.

The 3rd pass - not caught on film - I pancaked it onto the ground, smacked the prop and bent the crankshaft - I just got the new crank and bearings in so I'm going to test fly it tomorrow after work...usually my high speeds on that are about 4 feet off the ground - LOL
On those Vids - #6 was over lake washington at SeaFair I THINK - he was doing .95 mach, JUST under the speed of sound.
But #1 he was AT mach 1-
#3, #2, and #1 - #2 was cool cuz it was a big plane!!
now if someone can get some footage of that B1B in Afghanistan even at 200 feet at mach 1.2 I'd be delighted - saw it on History channel but from inside the cockpit...
