You can see how pissed up he is on his legs. I think he almost screwed himself to death and just needed the nutrition that badly. It happens out there a lot.

He must have been worn down and delirious from the rut. I had the same thing happen on a big buck recovering from the rut. I got so close it was amazing...just walked right up to him.

I think that deer might ride the short bus to school. If you watch at ~1:20, the deer in the background spook and run off.
