I'm under contract to do yearly inspections on the Presidio of Monterey Police Dept's firearms. Other than the beat up M9s and the worn out M16A2s they recently turned in their 2 M24 SWS for 4 brand new M110 systems complete with all of the goodies. One thing I found very interesting was how much the rear of the KAC suppressor leaks. The isn't a complete weld around the mounting collar so all that pressure is being pushed through that gap.

I should have gotten some pictures, the only problem is I've got a Nextel flip phone with a lousy camera.

They've got about 40 M16A2 rifles in inventory. Most are FNs which are WORN out, there is so much slop between the upper and lower it's not even funny. The rest are Colts, either original A2s or A1s that were upgraded and overstamped. They even have a re-built H&R M16(talk about old)
I'm really surprised they were able to get 4 brand new M110 systems considering everything else they get is Army handmedowns. Dept of the Army PDs are something a bit different. Never seen so many sergeants on duty for one shift

Those are what my buddy's dept purchased...for a buck each pre-converted to semiauto. They got a bunch of bushmasters too from the CHP I think.

Old rifles never die they just end up in a cabinet somewhere.

Funniest one was when his dept turned in their 357 revolvers for destruction (supposed to be chopped in half). They sent in 170something and afterwards only found 45 barrels...125 revolvers got up and walked away...whoops...
