Hey all, so I've got a rifle being built and I've looking at optics.

So here's what I'm looking for a 20+ variable power with an h59 reticle, now here's the kicker, I'm trying to keep te price down as I'm that broke military/college guy. So I'm trying to stay sound 1200$ for optics (+/- a couple hundred).

The only one ive seen is the bushy 3.5-21x50 with the h59 for around 1600$.

Can anyone think of anything better out there?

horus reticles add about 350-400$. personally, i'd pick a mil or moa reticle and get into the best scope you can, but if you want to stick with the horus, thats probably your best bet.

I've grown up on mil/mil optics and have used mil dot reticles for quite a while. I figured Id change it up and give Horus a try after using one on a buddy's gun doing long range multi target engagements without dailing. If I don't like it I can always sell and go back to NF.

Have you ever shot the IOR Valdada with MP8 reticle?

I was in your shoes recently in regards to price point and wanting high quality, and after a ton of research and personal experience from SWAT buddies I took a look at Valdada.

I ended up buying their 3-18x42 with side focus, illuminated reticle and 35mm tube and I LOVE it!! Got it on sale for just under 1300 with rings. I can't think of anything that comes close to it in that pricepoint.

At the time I didn't want to go over 1,000 but just couldn't find what wanted without going over. In fact, I bought another IOR as well because I liked them so much, though the other one was less expensive.

Valadas strong point is their quality glass.
