So i really wanted to get my 4 year old niece a Powerline 880S for chirstmas this year, but she lives in town and her mother wouldn't have been very happy if all the apt windows got shot out. Maybe in a couple years when she moves back to South Dakota.
So instead, I got her the Nerf Longshot and removed the air restrictors in both the primary weapon and the side arm. Gave it some Krylon Fusion just to get rid of that goofy ass blaze orange and Yellow. (dont fret, you can still see blaze inside the barrels in case anyone thinks its real)
I think she's gonna be pumped. She keeps wanting to go hunting with Dad and Uncle Joe, but she's gotta learn the basics first.

    reflections,
i thought the same thing so i had to click on it to see what the hell it was, how come they didnt have things like that when we were growing up, we were stuck with red riders but nothing as cool as that, nice spray bomb job

My wife wants Nerf Guns for fights in the house after spending a weekend with her sister and in laws. I'll be agreeing with her as long as I can rattle can them. Good job on this!

    Re: Christmas Time!

Thanks fellas. My cousin and I (the only two boys in the family) used to get each other nerf guns back in the day...if only i had known about all the sweet modifacations that were available...not to mention how sweet they are getting. I mean really... Full Auto Chain guns?
Room mate and I got nerf guns and police shield helmets a few years back when we had a nasty blizzard and no cable tv...really helps pass the time.
Gotta love the realism when a forum full of gun nuts can be drawn in by a nerf gun.

NERF guns NEVER get old. And your NEVER too old for NERF guns!

When I was at the police academy, a couple of fellas from a Sheriff's dept. up north treated the academy a lot like college. They bought some cheapo nerf knock-offs and would ambush people before and after class.

Before long, the entire class of over 50 had invested in at least 1 good NERF shooter and plenty of ammo. And the guys that started this trend left the academy with something like 2x of the belt-feds (junk), 3x of the above, 4x of the assault/cqb type which are the next step down in size and price (and the best performer of the lot). The day of graduation, was a frenzy of foam darts I will never forget. I probably learned more about movement and tactics there than I did in some of the actual class-room scenarios.

And best of luck to the poor bastard who becomes a barricaded subject in that apartment/dorm complex. I will own him.

    Re: Christmas Time!

I had enough Nerf guns to cover the floor of the house in darts. Family wars were the normal every night after dinner.

Wish I would have painted a few of them up like that! Then worn Camo to be more realistic!!

Best thing we ever did was paint several of mine all silver and dressed up as Men in Black for Halloween! Busted a few zombies with some serious firepower!

Looks like she is going to have an awesome Christmas!

    Re: Christmas Time!

just do a google search for Nerf Vulcan EBF-25 mods and see what you come up with. I am not sure what the internals of the chain gun have but i saw some people cranked up the power so they were shooting like 500rpm...the air restrictors removal is actually a purdy simple fix once you get the gun apart. you can search for that too, lots of videos online
