Gunsmithing Clamp On Muzzle Brakes? Kahntrol, etc

I have a .308win with an unthreaded barrel that I’d like to brake without too much hassle. I’ve seen some good remarks about Kahntrol brakes. Do folks have any experience and comments on Kahntrol clamp-ons or any other clamp-on manufacturers to share? Thanks, J

I use a Kahntrol CWES Gen 2 on my .308 bolt gun. It's not a clamp-on since I have a threaded muzzle, but it does cut down on recoil quite a bit. Pretty darn good for the money, I think. I wouldn't hesitate to get a clamp-on model.

Another option would be witt machine. Done properly clamp ons do hold up.

Nice how the Witt customizes. Anybody compare the Witt to the Kahntrol?

I use the witt clamp-on on a Savage fv 12 and it is top notch.
