Cleaning Equip. for my 5r

Re: Cleaning Equip. for my 5r

You need first and foremost a GOOD boreguide and sinclair or brownell (same company) midway ect. donot sell any good ones. Call D & B Supply (scopeusout.com) and get a lucas bore guide!! You first need to decide what rod you will use b/c the guide is fit to the rod, I recomend a Dewey or a Bore Tech. I like the brushes that sinclair sells, and as far as jags the Bore Tech are my favorite but the ones you can get from sinclair are good too, I dont like a Dewey style jag though. If you get a dewey rod you need a jag adapter. You will need good patches and the Butches are the best. For solvent I think TM Solution is the best for all around cleaning. If you have heavy copper fouling I think the Bore Tech Eliminator is the way tog but the Montana Extreme copper solvent is very good also. Good luck and dont get into a rush let the solvent do the work.

If you have any questions, the reps at SInclair will steer you through and give you solid recommendations

All of what Switchblade said, plus:

1 - Quality cotton flannel patches
2 - Quality bore solvent (Bore Tech, Shooters Choice, Butch's, Miltec...long list, but all are good quality)
3 - Quality Bronze bore brush

Sinclair is an excellent, one-stop-shop for everything you'll need and their prices are pretty reasonable. Also, if you don't want to go the DIY route for a cleaning cradle/vice, Sinclair sells several models for around $50 that are all nice and will do the job well.

Good Luck!!
