So I ordered new VZ grips for my colt new agent. As I went to put them on, I noticed the factory grip screws' heads were too big. (5/16" and need to be 1/4") I go to my local smith and he sells me screws that fit the grips. I put them in and what do you know, they're too long. Ugh. The threads on them are 1/4" long and I need to file them down about 2mm. Would you all recommend filing them, or taking them to a grinder, or what? Please help.

As TS stated. Slim line grips have different screws, bushing and bushing driver bit. Don't forget the red loctite when install the new bushings.
