True.

The large (.312") pivot pin (actually a double-headed screw) is offset from the normal "milspec" axis, and the offset adapter will allow one to use regular uppers from every other company with your Colt large-pin lower.

If it has the normal size (.245") pivot pin, or sometimes a double-headed screw, a standard upper should just plug right in.

If you have a double-headed screw, chances are it's not drilled for a detent pin and you're stuck with the srewdrivers unless you change something. You can get a pin with a built-in detent to hold it in, or, you can drill the correct 3/32" hole 1.125" deep and install a regular pin, detent & spring.
