Does anyone know anything about these? I'm thinking that it's just some kind of .22 conversion kit for .45 gold cups. They didn't actually ever make gold cups in .22 from the factory did they?

Re: colt gold cup .22?

Think they are a special run for some distributors. The .22s aren't made by Colt, I was told there made in Germany. I know a guy that bought a regular Colt 22, he really likes it.

Re: colt gold cup .22?

The Colt .22 lr 1911s are made by Carl Walther imported by umerex.
They offer 3 different models. The gold cup with adjustable target sights, the rail gun (light/laser rail on bottom), and either a stadard or A1 model.

I bought the rail gun for a trainer, runs flawless, accurate, and slide locks on empty. The sights work, but are cheap. They are the only flaws I see with mine.

I have a Colt Gold Cup . I bought mine to teach my GF (who has never held a fire arm before) how to manipulate a fire arm safely. Plus they are fun as hell to shoot! I changed the recoil spring to a little heavier one cuz it wouldn't finish the cycle with some ammo,0 issues since. Mine is very ammo specific. It likes American Eagle 40 grain and Winchester m22 40 grain. The nice part is, no need for another holster cuz it fits in my other ones.

I have the SIG 1911-22 and with good ammo it runs like a champ. Some of the chepo standard Velocity .22lr I get FTE about 25% of the time. The SIG is made by GSG but has the better SIG warranty.
