Colt M4 LE6920 at Wal-Mart

Re: Colt M4 LE6920 at Wal-Mart

Perhaps you could ask the OP for photos of the gas key, receiver extension, and barrel stamps on his new LE6920.

Bottomline, LGS are nice guys but I'm not paying more to benefit from their product knowledge. There has only been one gun store (Virginia Arms Company) where I would have paid more for their CS and the product knowledge of their employees.

+1 the guys at VA Arms rock. I have no problem making the 1 hour round trip to deal with a shop that has knowledgeable staff, good prices, and doesn't try to BS you. Their're prices for guns and trasnfers are one of the best in the area. They also refuse to carry crappy guns like keltec and hi point.

I support them whenever I can. Buying a new AAC can from them later this week actually.

tylerw02 - Sorry I pissed in your Wheaties.

As far as asking for photos, I believe you. No need to see pictures of a 6920. I have 4 in my safe if I want to look at one.

From now on I'll just listen to everyone on the errornet.

Re: Colt M4 LE6920 at Wal-Mart

I picked one at my local walmart a few hours ago. I'm a vendor with walmart I do a 80% of business with walmart. I was in the back receiving area this morning and UPS showed with there normal daily delivery. I went just about to get let back door when I saw Colt on one the firearms boxes the receiving clerk was checking in. So I checked it out and saw the invoice from sports south walmarts cost was $900.00 price at my walmart was $1067.00 so I bought it. Walmarts policy is a manager escorts you to the door when you buy a firearm and just happened to be the head store manager so it was good PR for myself. The way look I do so much business with in theory walmart bought it for me.

The new Asst. Manager at this store is actually a gun collector and avid shooter. He told me he had to send back the Colt 6920 SP's that they had in stock, and they where replaced with the Colt 6920 LE's.

Only difference I see in these LE models at Wal-mart is that they don't have the Military/Police/Government use only marking on the other side of the Mag well. They are marked Colt Defense, which is usually the Government only manufacturer, whereas Colt Manufacturing is the civilian manufacturer. My LE6920 had the Roger's Super-Stoc with it.

If that's the OP, he certainly is a lucky dog! Scored a great rifle-I have one myself-and scores with a leggy blonde! Some guys have all the luck! Good luck and good shooting!

They had the Colts in the Walmart in Montana. They lasted about a day. Only store I dislike more than Walmart is Cabelas. They are birds of a feather. The unfortunate reality is you have to shop where they have what you need.

Leggy blondes are pretty rare at the local WalMart kinda like a full set of teeth.

It appears that being this being the case, Colt is doing something different AND cutting corners between version #1 and # 5.

I know now they are not adhearing to the TDP.

</div></div>

You "know" it based on there are different priced options? Did you consider some versions come with different sights, different stocks, different grips, etc? Does that necessarily mean they cut the quality of the innards? Of the units I've seen on the "low" end, they continued to adhere to TDP, but didn't include Magpul stocks, different BUIS, etc. They were just the run of the mil LE6920 that was the ONLY option for a 6920 five years ago. </div></div>

Please don't gt me wrong here. No offense but your statement -" Does that necessarily mean they cut the quality of the innards?" can go both ways. I don't know that they did take shortcuts and you don't know they didn't. The huge price difference I would think amounts to more then the BUIS, Stocks, etc.

I guess we will have to wait to see because it will eventually come out. </div></div>

Uh, not quite. Your exact words were "I know now they are not adhearing to the TDP". Not "maybe". Not "they could be doing X".

Seems to me that you have already come to a conclusion and are searching for any anecdotal evidence to lend credence to your determination.

If you look at all the versions of the LE6920, as one person mentioned, it has to do with the accessories of each version - not the internal components.

Re: Colt M4 LE6920 at Wal-Mart

I feel badly for you guys that seem to have lousy shops in your areas.. I guess I'm pretty lucky that within a few mins driving distance I have two great shops.. Between the two you can always get prices that are better than the best online prices.. One shop is nearly all black rifles. Knight's, Noveske, DD, LMT, BCM, Colt, LWRC, PWS, etc. With the prices and service between those two shops my $$ is always spent local.
