I ordered a new barrel from compass lake with a tube and gastap(block) but i'm unsure how the block is secured to the barrel. there are no pins screws or set screws. there is only a witness mark 180 degrees from the gas hole on the bottom of the barrel and a hole in the block itself to visually line it up. am i to assume this is held on by locktight or epoxy of some sort.

I have tried to call them but they are out till monday. I have a NRA match tommorrow 7/8. was looking to shoot that rifle. any thoughts?

Thanks

Re: Compass Lake Gas block install

well i got a reply from Bunny at compass lake engineering. yes that gas block is held on using just loctite. I used a sleeve retainer high temperture by permatex sold at NAPA. as they don't have loctite 640. but the discription for permatex mirrors the loctite brand. will see and let you know if i have any problems.
