CONGRATS!!! Vote for the Best Cigar Quote!

Re: Vote for the Best Cigar Quote!

Distorted Luxo, LLC? Panty 6 already canc'd 'Distorted Luxeries'."It sounds like a Sex Shop!" Research is on to see what we need, points of contact for taxation purposes, in other words, basic yes we can or no we can't do business here without a brick and mortar shop.

The quote contest is just a thing a few of us came up with for kicks and man I was really taken with a few of them. They really hold true words

Re: Vote for the Best Cigar Quote!

James it looks as though Zeroed1983 is in the lead as it should be. Although I am honored to have my quote there at number two "The only thing better tasting than a fine cigar is Victory but its a close second" will you do me a favor. If zeroed is downrange give mine to him. The only thing more pleasurable to actually winning this would be for you to give those to a guy downrange standing in my stead.

Teppo-Ka:
While I sincerely appreciate the offer and it shows the strength of your character, I am no longer downrange. If I remember right, Cigarsinternational had an option to add a donation to your order to send cigars to deployed soldiers. They take care of the details, generally easier if you don't have a specific person to send it to.

Re: Vote for the Best Cigar Quote!

Then GAME ON BITCH!!!!!!!!!!! Just messin with ya bro. I actually do like your quote better than mine. If I do win James knows who mine are going to. He has a buddy that just left that we are boxing stuff up for as we speak but if you were there you were getting the honors. Glad your back!

Re: Vote for the Best Cigar Quote!

Switchblade,
Thank you for the kind words. Spent some time in your AO when I was stationed at Knox. It's too bad I got on the Hide a little late. Judging by your posts that I've seen... between shooting, cigars, fine spirits, and BBQ you seem to know how to spend a proper weekend...

Re: Vote for the Best Cigar Quote!

DRAM, I would never allow my own words to be voted on in a contest I was making for fun, but you know that of course.
Zeroed, my weekends are not all cigars and bbq. That is only the ending of a day of hard 'Honey Do' work that usually means a trip that costs upwards of $100 to Lowe's. I will say this though, the place is looking quite nice and I do have time to dedicate to a little bourbon and the smoker when I get the itch.

It's funny, the south here is a nice place to live and it surely feels like home but I do on occasion miss the redwoods and coastal fog

Re: Vote for the Best Cigar Quote!

CONGRATS!!!

Zeroed1983, WINNER!!! You made a quote that hit so many people and both former military and many civilians said it was hard hitting and they could totally get it. Outstanding Work!

Teppo Ka, RUNNER UP!!! Your cigar/victory post was the original of the many. ANyone who has ever won something or worked very hard to earn it knows the feeling, however, when it is celebrated with a fine cigar it is truly an event!

The individuals who read all of the quotes and helped me get to the final ones were a mix of civilians, military, and former military who I have e-mail contact with on a daily to weekly basis. There were so many good ones, and quite a few great ones, and all of them were noteworthy in one way or another.

I would like to thank you all for taking the time and working your brains to come up with these. My personal favorite was zeroed's as it hit me where I lived, but Rhys's 'equalizer' quote was right there with it.

Rhys, I may hijack that for some advertising one day

All quotes were sent to 10 people on my e-mail list to look at, and give me their top five. All the people were either civilians(No mil/LEO experience), military, former military or LEO. Every one of them picked the top four the same and only differed on the different victory/cigar quotes. Teppo Ka's had an extra edge on the rest so it went up.
Like everything else, you have a perfect right to your opinion, even if it is a day late and a dollar short, or maybe it's just sour grapes. If you care to expand upon your valued opinion maybe you can bring some more light to what you are trying to say. As for me, well, I can only see solid grammer, true feeling, and basic truth to each and every one. I can also see they are all different, and not one is flowery but well thought out, and well written. Please bring us your solid opinion of each and every one that was voted on since you decided to not cast your vote. You may want to let us know why YOU didn't vote, but I think I already have that figured out. Enjoy your evening Tim. SMoke a good cigar. Enjoy a nice pour of Bourbon, and reflect on what it is to be you and why it's a great thing being you. The rest of the world doesn't mean all that much when you're enjoying a good smoke and a nice glass of your favorite libation now does it?

Switch, the response of a gentleman and man of honor. Only those who have experienced, really understand these quotes.

Congratulations to the winners and everyone who submitted their quote. I personally enjoyed them all and will add them to my cigar book.

Re: CONGRATS!!! Vote for the Best Cigar Quote!

Best cigar quote I ever heard was attributed to Groucho Marx.
Supposed went something like this.
Groucho "So Miss Smith how many children do you have?"
Miss Smith "Seventeen"
Groucho "SEVENTEEN!!!! Why so many?"
Miss Smith "Because I love my husband"
Groucho "Well I love my cigar too, but I take it out every now and then."

I think this thread needs reviving, but leaning towards a "what are you smoking now" direction. Lots of good info in here already, so I'd like to keep it going. Now that the weather is good enough here that I can sit on the patio with a good drink, steaks on the grill and a good cigar, let's get it going!!

Just finished an Opus X, a bit disappointed in the burn, but overall a good smoke.
