<span style="font-weight: bold"> </span> <span style="font-style: italic"> </span> redding comp seating die or ??

i would like a lathe type trimmer that can accept the forester 3 in 1 cutter, i like the mic setting though on the redding trimmer so i would like to stick to somthing with a mic adjustment if i could

your imput on these products or better ones is welcome

Re: considering various reloading equipment YOUR IMPUT

the le wilson and forster trimmers are cheaper then redding. To be honest even with the mic adjust, you still need to check oal by hand , at least i have to , thats if your trying to get it inside .002-001. If greater variance is acceptable for you , then you dont. Sinclair makes allot attachments for wilson trimmer , but its expensive. Forster mic seat die is cheaper then redding and gives me good results. If you have allot of brass to sort/trim ( like 1000) you should get the trimmer and get started, if not get the seat die.

Agree with prior post on triming - you still need to check the brass by hand but I assume the mic gets you close. I keep "set up" trimmed brass to make adjusting trimmer simple. I use Forster trimmer and like it.

L.E. Wilson trimmer. Base price is very reasonable (<$40), and shell holders are $8 for an entire family of calibers that share the same parent case. Simple, robust design; very easy to use and extremely accurate/consistent. Sinclair has some nice, expensive accessories that are convenient but not necessary, and do not improve accuracy.

Forster seating dies have the same design on the inside as the Redding Comp Seater, but Forster gives you the option of with or without micrometer adjustment. It's the inside that makes it accurate; the micrometer is for convenience.

This is my RCBS 3-way mounted in my vertical mill.
The shell holder is Lee with a Lee lock stud, mounted in a Kurt vise, that is clamped to the mill table. The vise grips are the quick throw lock/ release for the case.
The 3-way is lowered and raised with the mill quill. This is the fastest way I can trim brass:
1) Put the case in the shell holder.
2) Pull on the vise grips.
3) Pull down on the quill hand feed lever.
4) Push up on the quill hand feed lever.
5) Push on the vise grips.
6) Take the case out of the shell holder.

This can be done blindfolded.

This is a Forster type trimmer mounted vertically and a door knob is fit over the existing handle.

This system gets the most out of my muscles, without being powered by an electric motor.
