Anyone here know if the Leupold Custom Shop can convert M1 MOA turrets to Mil based M5 turrets ? The scopes that I have are Vari-x III 6.5x20 and 4.5 x14 with 30 mm tubes and M1 turrets. I do not see any reference to them doing this conversion on their web page.

You could call Kenton Industries and see if they can do a conversion turret, If I remember correctly 14 clicks(1/4moa) = 1 Mil. Cheaper/Faster route

I asked about a year ago and they said they were different thread pitch and they couldn't change them. They did say they were working on it and planned to eventually have it available.

I called Leupold a couple weeks ago asking the same question. Convert my Mk4 M1 turrets into M5 turrets so that it will be MIL/MIL scope........ Not a problem - $100 per turret ($200 for elevation and windage). Send scope in with detailed instructions and contact info, they will call you back when finished and ask for payment info.

I would call Leupold first to confirm before shipping the scope...

Note that I asked about a Mark4 scope...

I called Leupold about a turret swap on my Mark 4 4.5-14x40. I asked if they could remove the M1s and change to the M5s. After a conversation with a guy in the tech department he said no problem.

I sent the scope in a week ago and just got an email saying they could not do the swap with no explanation. Depending on who you talk to at Leupold they don't have a clue. Kinda like the drive through line at McDs.

I actually just sent a message to Leupold a few days ago asking if they could change to the M5 turrets on my Vari-X III LR/T 4.5/14-50 30mm tube. I received a message back stating that the tube design was different and it couldn't be done. My scope is a K (2002) year code so I'm not sure if that made a difference or not.

I asked the same thing about my vx3 long range. Identical to my other mark 4 just a year older and they said it couldnt be done. At this point id be happy with just a reticle swap to make it moa/moa but of course they dont have that yet either....

They told me they can do Mark 4s, but not Vari-X III, VX-III, or VX-3. He also said they were only doing it on 3.5-10x and 4.5-14x models at the time. They did mine for $165 on my Mark 4. Basically, not all the scopes are internally the same and they haven't developed swaps to M5 yet for every model. The parts are unique and they are just doing them for them most popular scopes right now.
