I have a Timney 510-U trigger that I was going to use on a Defiance Machine action. I am instead going to use a Bighorn Arms Tactical action and the 510-U trigger together. Should I swap the U size sear to the standard size 510 sear for the Bighorn Tactical action? I sent AJ at Bighorn Arms an e-mail on this, but I thought I'd post it here as well. Any help is appreciated, thx.

Re: Correct Timney sear size for Bighorn Arms Action

FYI. I received an e-mail from AJ stating that he isn't familiar enough with the Timney 510 to say which is the correct sear. I may just give the 510-U a go in the Bighorn and see how it goes.

Re: Correct Timney sear size for Bighorn Arms Action

I have 2 of his receivers, one with a 511 and one with a 511-U.

The -U is the correct sear to use. If you really need it I have pictures that I can email you to show why you want the -U. If you have the plain 510 already, call Timney and tell them you need the -U "extended sear" and they will ship it to you, don't know if they charge for it or not, I can't remember when I ordered the one to swap out for my Stiller action.

[And the 511 vs. 510 is LH vs. RH]

Found this thread while researching the Big Horn action, and would like to know whether Timney's new Calvin Elite trigger works well with the BH? Also have a spare Jewell HVR in hand - how do they work with these actions?

Actually just went through this myself. I finished my build up yesterday and dropped in a new Calvin elite and went shooting today a bit. Works fine. Awesome trigger and no problems at all. Slam tested, bump tested and all. Should be good to go unless someone knows something I'm not seeing.
