There seems to be some mass confusion of the origin of Bertrillium-Zantitium, so let me shed some light. First off, to show my credentials, I am an evil scientist that majored in neo-biochemistry. I work for an agency so covert I am forbidden to even mention its name. Bertrillium-Zantitium is actually a primordial isotope consisting of a secret formulation of ninja shit, unicorn tears, and the breast milk of Aphrodite. This has never been disclosed to the public before, which is why there is no information about it on the internets.
Counter Sniper corp. won't tell you the secret formulation out of fear of total global destruction, as the concoction is so powerful. . . . well, you can let the clarity of CS optics speak to that!
All kidding aside, I came across the CS booth at a trade show about ten years ago while I was a young Marine. The gentleman behind the table informed me about the "contract overrun" status of these optics, which were not that impressive. He offered to sell me one for $450, if I recall, which I declined.
Thinking back on that, just how many 10x scopes has the Army bought from Leupold in 10 years? How many Unertl scopes did the Marine Corps buy in 10 years? If CS really sold their scopes to some super-duper, covert, counter-ninja US government agency, how many optics do you think were stated to be procured on a one time contract? With that said, what kind of incompetent small buisiness makes so many scopes for secret agent men that they can still be selling them at severe discount to the unwashed masses ten years later? If USMC snipers go through five thousand S&B scopes (uneducated wild assed guess) in ten years, that's not nearly enough to sustain civie market demand if you built triple the amount.
That alone should tell you something.
